      历史

1900年，安德鲁·卡耐基出资建立了卡内基技术学校（Carnegie Technical Schools）。起初是抱着为匹兹堡Pittsburghers地区劳工阶层的子女，提供职业学习教育的理念，其教育目标是"为匹兹堡的工人阶级子女提供良好的职业培训"，卡内基先生的名言 — My heart is in the work，全心全力工作的态度，也是这所大学的传统精神。

1912年，学校改名卡内基工学院(Carnegie Institute of Technology)并提供四年制学位。转制以研究为主
